The rise of the internet and the need for greater teacher accountability have made this generation very exciting for future educators. Web 2.0 has helped to revolutionize how teachers, students, and even parents interact with one another. A teacher may through a blog, much like this one, keep a record of what their class is doing on a weekly basis. Through this, students and parents can keep in touch with what is being learned in the classroom. That is just one of many ways that teachers can help with students when it comes to progressing on the rate that is expected of them. That is why this "school 2.0" excites me; with this treasure trove of information can only enhance the students chances at learning the skills they need.

Lifelong Learning and Web 2.0: Thing # 1
The 7 1/2 habits of lifelong learning tutorial is a good introduction to the qualities one needs to continue to learn throughout one's life time. Whenever someone asked me what I know I always respond that " I truly know nothing at all." I am always wanting to gain knowledge to better myself, because I feel there is always something new to learn. The easiest habit for me is accepting responsibility for my own learning. I know this because this is my second attempt at getting a degree, after making a fair share of mistakes when I was younger. I know that it is my responsibility to do good in school. The hardest habit for me is begging with the end in mind. When I set up a goal for my self I tend to not plan for the end game, and fly by the seat of my pants. I need to have a clearer plan so I can meet my goals more efficiently.
With web 2.0 I want to learn how new technologies can help me in my future classroom. I feel that the students can learn even more with the right tools at their disposal. Then part of my job as an educator will be to know how the technologies work so I can help the students understand them. With this being my first blog I feel that it was an easy and enjoyable experience.

What I Want This Blog to Be: Thing # 3
I want to use this blog to help me in understanding how the different aspects technology can help me has a candidate teacher. I also want to give my perspective on the 23 things and hopefully give them a fresh perspective on them. I believe I will also maintain this blog after my time in 3040 as a resource for my self and others to better my self as a future educator.
Thing # 2
I decided on the name of my blog because this is my first real excursion into web 2.0. With this journey I feel it will help as a future educator and have a better understanding to meet that end. This is the first time I am actually making and maintaining a blog; so far it has been an interesting experience. I hold my self fortunate because I have had a Google account for some time now. So the actual set up was very easy for me. The only problem I had was getting my avatar onto my blog's page. If I was to give on criticism over this blogging sight it would be that you have to open several different pages to modify your sight. Overall I am generally excited about this blog and helps anyone who may come across it. I feel that my avatar is a good representation of my personality. If you notice the avatar is not wearing shoes, I did this because I hate wearing socks or shoes. I have become known for the fact I wear sandals all year round.
