The 7 1/2 habits of lifelong learning tutorial is a good introduction to the qualities one needs to continue to learn throughout one's life time. Whenever someone asked me what I know I always respond that " I truly know nothing at all." I am always wanting to gain knowledge to better myself, because I feel there is always something new to learn. The easiest habit for me is accepting responsibility for my own learning. I know this because this is my second attempt at getting a degree, after making a fair share of mistakes when I was younger. I know that it is my responsibility to do good in school. The hardest habit for me is begging with the end in mind. When I set up a goal for my self I tend to not plan for the end game, and fly by the seat of my pants. I need to have a clearer plan so I can meet my goals more efficiently.
With web 2.0 I want to learn how new technologies can help me in my future classroom. I feel that the students can learn even more with the right tools at their disposal. Then part of my job as an educator will be to know how the technologies work so I can help the students understand them. With this being my first blog I feel that it was an easy and enjoyable experience.
I agree with you on this. You learn something new each day and everything happens for a reason. Those are the two phrases I go by daily, or try to for the most part. :) I am also the same way of setting up goals and trying to stick with it. I'm trying my best to keep my motivation on sticking to my goals and knowing that in the end will be great.
ReplyDeleteAs educators, not only is it important for our students to learn, but it is also essential that we ourselves learn. The need for knowledge is a great habit for you to have! I also agree that technology can be a great tool for our future students to have. Hopefully we make great use from this course!
